Elation

Elated adj full of high spirits, exhilaration, pride or optimism; very happy.

Exhilaration rushes through me as we close out the teleconference with pleasantries. I realise it’s actually happening.

Five months of campaigning, planning and negotiating. Five months of attempts to curb my passion and enthusiasm in favour of pragmatism. Five months of possibilities and yearning to do more. Something with meaning. Something to make a difference. Something indispensible.
Positively tingling with anticipation and excitement, the intoxication spreads like a wave. Pure happiness rushes through me, filling me up and seeping out of every pore, I can’t help but beam. A sense of a deep routed purpose soon to be achieved. A lost connection like no other about to be re made.

I’m elated. I’m going back to Nigeria…. I’ll be leaving next month to continue my work with IBM and the Nigerian Ministry of Social Warfare. Again, I’ll be working to assist the building and roll out of a social safety net supporting Cross Riverian’s living in abject poverty.

Good on you. It’s amazing when you can really make a difference and truley help others. And not everyone want to do that. Keep the good stuff comming, and hats of to IBM for supporting you.

Thanks for the good wishes Bella. I feel really lucky to have had so many amazing opportunities. Our month living in Far North Qld being one of them. An eye opening trip that got me thinking. G
